WoodWing is joining Omnidocs Group. The Dutch software company, known for helping companies organise their knowledge, and produce and publish digital content, brings its people, products, and AI expertise into Omnidocs.

It is a significant step in scale. Omnidocs Group now has 390 employees, combined revenue above EUR 70 million and more than 8,000 customers, with 12 offices in Denmark, the Netherlands, England, Germany, Switzerland, the US, Malaysia and Belgium. That makes us one of Europe’s largest providers of document creation and digital content management solutions.

In the video below, our CEO Jeppe Schytte-Hansen shares what the combination means and why we are doing it now.

Why quality and control matter now

Businesses are raising the bar for how their data and digital content are managed. They want to know where their information lives, who can use it and how it is handled, especially as more of their work runs through AI.

Currently it is easy to produce content quickly and at volume. The harder part is making sure the text, images and documents a business shares with customers, public authorities, citizens, and investors are accurate, compliant and consistent. With more content moving faster, a single outdated clause or wrong figure can travel a long way before anyone notices.

Omnidocs and WoodWing have each been working on parts of this problem for years. Together, we can address it in one place.

One foundation for the whole document lifecycle

Most documents follow the same path. Someone starts from a process and from a template, pulls in the right content, produces the document, gets it approved, and eventually files it securely and can retrieve it again. Previously, those steps were often spread across separate tools that do not work together and cause disruptions in the workflow and require multiple vendors.

Omnidocs is built to serve the first half of that path: Templates, document creation and automation. WoodWing adds the second half: finding and reusing approved content and assets, governing it, and storing and retrieving documents once they are done. Combined, our portfolio covers the full lifecycle, and customers can adopt as much or as little of it as they need.

For teams and agents, these strict guardrails mean fewer places for errors to creep in.

“Most of the outputs that run a business should be built from things people already know: Approved wording, current figures, the right logo, approved legal clauses, assets with rights to use. Human error means that sometimes those outputs leave with mistakes. AI makes that problem compound even further, because it multiplies whatever it is given, good or bad. Our vision is simple. Give every organisation one reliable foundation for its documents and content, from the first input or string of data to the final archive, so that people and agents are working from the same trusted source. With WoodWing onboard, we can now cover that whole lifecycle, and we can do it as a European company that takes control over data seriously, based on US technology or European alternatives.”

What WoodWing brings to the group

WoodWing is based in the Netherlands, with more than 1,500 customers in more than 60 countries and offices in the Europe, the US, and Asia.

The combination brings three things in particular:

• A broader portfolio. Content creation and publishing, digital asset management, and document storage and retrieval now sit alongside Omnidocs’ document creation and automation.

• AI expertise. New technologies and experienced people that strengthen our ability to build AI solutions our customers can rely on.

• A stronger presence in the US. WoodWing has an office and a substantial customer base in the US. The US is one of our two largest markets and already accounts for around 20% of total Omnidocs revenue.

“WoodWing has always been about liberating organisations from their content and information inefficiencies. Joining Omnidocs feels like a natural next step. We share the same belief that quality content starts with a strong governed foundation, and together we can now offer customers something neither of us could alone: One connected way to create, find and manage the content that matters most. I’m genuinely excited for our team, our customers and what we will build next as part of Omnidocs.”

– Ross Paterson Chief Strategy Officer, Omnidocs (former CEO of WoodWing)

What this means for customers and partners

Both companies have built strong products and loyal customer bases over many years. Our focus now is on connecting them thoughtfully with what we call a connective tissue, so that customers get more value from the tools they already use and a clear path to the ones they do not use yet, but easily could benefit from.

For existing customers, nothing changes in the products and support you rely on today. Over time, you will see our solutions work more closely together.
